Only an hour and a half from Madrid, Cuenca, a World Heritage City, preserves an important historical and architectural heritage, which extends throughout the old city, although focused on buildings such as the cathedral or the Hanging Houses attached to the limestone rock on the cliff of the canyon of the Huéca River, which have become the symbol of the city.
Rooted in the mountains of central-eastern Spain, it was originally founded by the Arabs and still preserves today the historic walled enclosure, with its steep cobbled streets and ruins of medieval castles. In addition, the basin has numerous wineries that produce high quality wines under D.O. La Mancha and D-O Uclés.
